Youth Cultural Heritage Competition

Are you below 21 years, from Uganda or Kenya, and passionate about culture, peace and unity?
Here is your chance to show it!
Participate in this cross-border Heritage Competition which is intended to encourage young people in Kenya and Uganda to express their passion for cultural heritage and how it contributes to peace and unity. Interested?
Here’s how to participate:
- Draw, paint or make a 3-minute video demonstrating a cultural practice (e.g. a ceremony, ritual, folk tale, etc.) which you know brings peace and unity.
- Mention the name of the practice and explain how it contributes to peace and unity in your community.
Where to send your entry:
Two teams of cultural experts from Kenya and Uganda will select the best entries which will be used to produce the 2019 East African Cultural Heritage Calendar.
Winners will be awarded prizes during a high-profile ceremony in Kampala, Uganda, in December 2019
